Enrichment
Extra sparks for curious minds.
Enrichment at MESA gives every child room to discover a passion, from chess and book club to financial literacy and friendly competition.
Financial literacy
Smarter than most adults about money.
Mr. Sigal's kindergarten class tackles income: how you actually earn money instead of just asking for it. Lemonade stands come up. So does babysitting. Next lesson: saving what you earn. The hard part.
Beyond the core
Something for every child.
Financial literacy
Kindergarteners learn how money works: earning, saving and spending wisely. Lemonade stands are a popular topic.
Chess
Strategy, patience and focus, one move at a time. Chess is a student favorite.
Book club
So popular that some students give up their lunch period to join. Readers share, discuss and recommend favorite books.
Reading enrichment
Students who can’t get enough books get more: enrichment groups and the school-wide Read. Think. Win! reading challenge.
The Bracha Bee
A Jewish competition that turns knowing the right berachah into a school-wide celebration of learning.
Tournaments & school spirit
From our Knicks versus Spurs Championship to our World Cup Tournament, a little friendly competition builds teamwork and spirit.

School spirit
A little friendly competition
At MESA, we love a little friendly competition. Our Garden Room hosts everything from our Knicks versus Spurs Championship to our World Cup Tournament, where everyone gets involved, there is teamwork, and there is lots of cheering.
As our students put it: at MESA, competition helps us learn and grow, and it builds tons of school spirit.
